From her sinister-but-sultry debut track in ’16 to the release of her official debut album ‘Nymph’ in the past year, the artist’s contemporary jumble of rap, pop, house, grime and deconstructed club has become the soundtrack of a new generation (as well as Rihanna’s Fenty shows). Collaboration with peers is an essential part of Shygirl’s sound, which includes a long-standing power partnership with Sega Bodega and projects with Arca, FKA twigs, Coucou Chloe, LYZZA, Lady Gaga and the late SOPHIE. Through everything this star touches – from shape-shifting visuals and square-shooting lyrics to the Nuxxe collective and record label – Shygirl is creating her own universe, and it just keeps blowing up.
