When you hear the Shackleton sound, you know it. Creeping dub dread, spindly rhythms that bob and weave, disembodied voices, atmosphere as dark as night. His all-originals ‘Fabric 55’ mix is regarded as one of the best ever, a parallel universe of its own twisted logic, and this only comes alive with the appropriate speaker size backing him. We have had the Berlin-based sound explorer perform at Dekmantel Festival a few times now, and for good reason: there is only one artist alive with a key to this netherworld.
