Moritz von Oswald

He’s a downright legend of electronic music, yet Moritz von Oswald doesn’t like disclosing too much about himself or his gargantuan oeuvre. Active for over three decades, the artist consistently inhabits the obscure in-betweens of cutting-edge club and art music. In 1993, Von Oswald and Mark Ernestus [together also known as Maurizio] founded Basic Channel, the record label and production duo widely recognised for pioneering minimal and dub techno. Over the years he’s been involved in countless other music projects, including the Moritz von Oswald trio (which, in its current state, includes Laurel Halo and Heinrich Köbberling) and Borderland (with Juan Atkins). At this year’s edition of Dekmantel Festival, Moritz von Oswald will deliver a glorious four-hour DJ set – and you’re invited to witness history.
