There are few as embedded in the dance community as Martyn. Over the years, the Dutch-born DJ has consistently given back to the scene by investing in the next generation of figureheads. Nowhere else is this devoted attitude better reflected than on his label 3024. Most of the imprint's signees stem from an artist mentorship programme, but alongside the fresh talent are Jacques Greene, Leon Vynehall and Martyn's own output, including collaborations with Spaceape and OM Unit. Holding steadfast to the UK-originated hybrid of bass music flavoured by Detroit-influenced jazz that's defined his sonic palette since the mid-1990s, Martyn helms a residency at Berlin's Panorama Bar, and on the radio, his monthly NTS show offers a glimpse into his far-reaching world.
