Front 242

Juggernauts of the industrial genre, Front 242 take to the Dekmantel stage. From the lurching, jagged melody of “Headhunter” to Jean-Luc De Meyer’s visceral vocals on “Tragedy”, during the 1980s, the Belgian group pioneered what they called “electronic body music” – a decidedly dark, weird variant of the synth-heavy sound sweeping Europe at the time. Revitalised in recent years through their Rammstein remix, The Sound of Belgium documentary, and a re-release on Curses’ Next Wave Acid Punx record, Front 242 is back and more potent than ever.
