When Forest Drive West broke onto the scene a few years ago, he was a man of mystery. Other than a rapidly growing catalogue of jungle and atmospheric techno released by labels like Peverelist's Livity Sound, AD93, Hidden Hawaii and Rupture London, there was little information to go on about the producer. It was clear that he already seemed to be a fully-fledged talent, well-versed in advanced beat science who dabbled in Euclidean rhythms and unusual 5/4 time signatures. Since then, Joe Baker has gone from strength to strength, honing his virtuoso percussion skills even further, not least behind the decks, where he's known to play out frantic dnb, warbling dub and oscillating tracks that land in the low-end frequencies.
