Last autumn, DjRUM put on an otherworldly show with the London Contemporary Orchestra at Queen Elizabeth Hall. That might surprise those who first experienced this UK producer in the club or at a festival – but actually, there are few sonic experiments this artist hasn’t dabbled in. DjRUM is a keen listener of all things (very) new and (very) old, fusing a range of genres including techno, ambient, modern classical, jazz, broken beat, samba, dubstep, jungle, footwork and gabber. Whether he knocks you out with big-gun bass or bathes you in a tenderly composed breath of sound, there’s a profound artistry that can be felt in every single DjRUM adventure.
