AUG 3 / Amsterdamse Bos
The epic, bass-playing legend that is Thundercat makes his Dekmantel Festival debut this year, spreading his funk-jazz-vibes and songs about love, heartbreaks, space, and 80s kids TV shows. He is the Stevie Wonder (or Herbie Hancock) of bass, embodying the new LA jazz-beat scene, and having won over many plaudits with his 2017 LP 'Drunk' - an album featured in many top end of year lists. Having played for and recorded alongside the likes of Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington, Erykah Badu and Kenrick Lamar, the kudos and respect of Thundercat’s playmanship spreads far. With one grammy already under his belt, and three solo albums, it’s a an honour to have such a global talent play at this year’s event.
