Mismatching purist techno with edits of recognisable vocal tracks from his native Mexico, Regal86 plays deftly with tropes and codes. Spanish lyrics and traditional folk genres such as corridos are stylised alongside hip hop and lean, keen electronics – unorthodox blends that refute dogmatic dancefloor seriousness, opting instead to revel in the spirit of deviant fun.
