When she’s not DJing, Rotterdam-based DJ and visual artist Nelly spends as much time as possible hiking in forests or up in the mountains—the same kind of surroundings her sets will teleport you to. Moist sonic textures and eerie soundscapes are woven together by a sleek driving techno beat, yet Nelly manages to transfer the same energy without a club beat; her listening and downtempo sets will put you in a similar state of hypnosis. This summer marks Nelly’s third appearance at Dekmantel Festival, and we’re even more excited than the first time she entered that dark UFO hangar.
