Midori Takada

The empress of minimal music, Midori Takada’s 1981 album 'Through the Looking Glass,' is revered as a classic of the genre. At 72 years old and still regularly releasing music, her four-decades-long practice weaves together solo, group, and theatrical pieces. Exercising a command of technique and rhythm enabling her to go beyond the musical, her performances cinematically invoke entire ecosystems – knotted tree roots, networks of mycelium, or the inner workings of the human psyche.
