MECHATORUS

The hybrid moniker of Torus and Mechatok, MECHATORUS, brings a critical edge to the dance floor. A multidisciplinary artist based in The Hague, Torus – aka Joeri Woudstra – toys with trance and harder styles, bringing an adventurous stance to any stage. While his production output has been distinctly ambient, his DJing renders a maximalist approach that is thoroughly met and matched by Mechatok. The Yung Lean, Ecco2K, and Bladee collaborator explores new angles on dancehall and video game soundtracks, amalgamating glitzy, impossibly catchy pop with furious beats. A blitzed frenzy of internet aesthetics and niche subgenres, MECHATORUS is not for the faint-hearted.
