Kali Malone

If anyone should be taking you to church, it’s Kali Malone. The rich, repetitive and poignant works of this Stockholm-based American artist implement specific tuning systems in minimalist structures for pipe organ, choir, chamber music ensembles and electroacoustic formats. Although Malone likes to describe herself as a composer, the organ—which she has played in the world’s most esteemed cathedrals—has quickly become her signature instrument, not in the least because of her acclaimed album ‘The Sacrificial Code’. With the Oude Kerk added to our list of venues for Dekmantel Festival ’24, this concert can only be a triumph.
