2001: A Space Odyssey (70mm)

"2001: A Space Odyssey" is a 1968 science-fiction film, written and directed by Stanley Kubrich and inspired in part by Arthur C. Clarke's short story "The Sentinel", regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made. The film's story tracks long-term human evolution as it is influenced by unseen aliens. The unearthing of one of their artifacts on the moon leads to an ill-fated expedition being dispatched to Jupiter, culminating in a famously climax. The movie has been a big inspiration to the esthethics of Dekmantel, so we're happy to see this one of a kind movie, on the original 70mm format, at EYE Film Institute on Dekmantel Festival's Thursday .
