Ancient Methods & Vatican Shadow
AUG 6 / Amsterdamse Bos
Michael Wollenhaupt’s brutalist, post-punk, hauntingly-industrial and gothic techno sound is indicative of the kind that haunts dark, bunker-like institutes. As a DJ or a live performer, Wollenhaupt is on hand to produce a darkened, yet roving narrative around his sternly, identifiable techno sound. During Dekmantel Festival Wollenhaupt will be teaming up with leading figurehead Vatican Shadow for a new and formidable techno performance.
Along with his cult imprint Hospital Productions, Dominick Fernow is responsible for crafting a new era of noise-driven, lo-fi, industrial-techno, in addition to his work as Prurient, the iconic and prolific act that defined the early days or prototypical gothic-techno. Fernow’s live sets are renowned for their heady atmospheres, dark-textures and oppressive techno and this year at Dekmantel Fernow will be teaming up with Ancient Methods for a new and intrepid performance, pitting the two techno-icons together for the first time.
